Did not get a marriage certificate?
I was maried 2 months ago. Prior to the wedding we went to the courthouse and obtained a marriage license that we both signed. After we were married(about 3 weeks later), that document came in the mail with another signature and stamp from the courthouse, the Reverand's signature, and 2 witnesses. That document was used to change my name, get a new id, etc....My question is, Am I supposed to get a marriage license as well and what is the point of one? If anyone could clear this up, I am just a little confused...Thank you!

Your fully executed, signed marriage license IS your marriage certificate. Mine is literally a photocopy of the license with a raised seal and live/real signature of the person who put the seal on it.
We married in Virginia, where witnesses are not even required.
So you should not be expecting any other documents to come to you. That document WAS your license until it was fully executed and NOW it is your marriage certificate.

I just glanced at mine. Take a closer look at yours, too.
The top portion of mine says "Marriage Register" and below that is all of our info. Then there is a heading "Marriage License" signed by the clerk. Below that is the heading "Marriage Certificate" and it is signed by the officiant in that section.
I didn't even realize until just now that it is actually setup that way on the one piece of paper to start with - LOL.
