How to cut plastic soda bottles?

I'm cutting the bottoms off plastic bottles, which is easy enough. The part I'm having trouble with is cutting around the 5-petal-type design on the bottom because the plastic is considerably harder than the sides of the bottles. I have tried an x-acto but the plastic is too hard and I don't want to slip and slice myself. I bought a hot wire cutter for foam and that's leaving a melty bead. I don't want to sand or saw, I want the edges smooth. Suggestions?

Wire-cutters? Like pruning shears maybe.

Large paper/canvas cutter?

I have a painting done on a 36 inch sheet of canvas with no frame. I would like to trim it down precisely so I have no excess canvas. Is there any place that can do this or where I can use a large paper cutter?

I don't know what art stores are near or are available to you but try Utrecht or Micheals , you may may have some luck at Jo-Ann Fabrics( you may find a cutter made for thread but it may be applicable ti your needs as well)
