June 2, 2008 10:14 pm ~ Wow a whole year has gone by since I was here last. Let's see what's new... I watch my niece's kids now and that pretty much takes up all my time. She lives 70 miles away so I leave on Sunday and come back on Friday. Sometimes I end up staying for 2 weeks at a time just to save gas. I love it there! Especially now since they just has a hot tub installed. The kids and I spend almost all morning there then at night I'm back in for another relaxing hour or two. I love looking up at the stars.

My mom has stage 4 lung and bone cancer. She had radiation but turned down the chimo. I usually take her out on the weekends and each week I can see her slowly going down hill. It's sad...

Nikki has moved out and Chuck lost his job. Thank goodness Peanut is still her silly self.

You'd think I'd have much more to write in a years time... Oh well... until next time... So ends another...    of Hugs,

May 10, 2007 12:39 pm ~ What a difference a month makes. Last month at this time it was freezing outside. Today it's 80° out.

April 9, 2007 9:53 pm ~ Boy is it cold! This weather sure has been crazy. Hot one day and freezing the next. I hope everyone had a nice Easter. I was at my nieces house Thursday until today. I love it there. Even though she has 2 girls ages 2 and 4 for the most part I get peace and quiet when I'm there. Plus I get to play. LOL!! We had tea parties, painted, played with play dough, played hair dresser, made Easter cards and just had a good 'ol time. They got a bunch of new books so we had lots of story time.

My foot is all better 'cept with this cold snap it along with my knees have started aching. Old age is definitely not for wimps! It sure tries to kick my butt on occasion. Ugh!

Yeah I know I should write more but I'm tired. So until next time... hugs!

March 21, 2007 11:31 pm ~ Hi again... Let's see since my last post the day before my birthday I crack fractured my ankle. Dumb me I completely missed a step down and about landed on my face. Even had to get my nose x-rayed along with both my knees and my foot. What a way to spend my birthday huh? Luckily I didn't have to get a plaster cast and was able to get the air boot thingy. My toes are still black. It looks creepy. I had just filled out an application at a digital printer place and was leaving when I fell. Guess I won't be getting that job.

Actually they did call me 2 days later but the job requires standing. *sigh*

Nikki gave me a very happy birthday though. She bought me an ice cream cake and sang to me as well as gave 2 really pretty costume jewelry watches. She even paid for me to get my nails done. Chuck and I were supposed to go to the Olive Garden for dinner but the night we picked he hadda work late and my foot hurt but we did finally got to go to The Red Lobster last Sunday. As usual we went with Greg and Sherry. Chuck's brother and s-i-l. We had a good time.

So ends another...    Hugs,

February 20, 2007 10:10 pm ~ Hello. Thought I pop in to catch you up on my latest happenings. I'm trying to find a job. Lord knows where I'll land. I just want something part time so I'll have some spending money. Chuck took my debit card. :( He said I was spending to much. I was! LOL!! But he did buy me a real pretty diamond ring for Valentine's Day and my birthday. I told him being as he took away my spending privileges he hadda buy me something. He did good.

Nikki is still living here but not for long if she doesn't start remembering to turn down the heat when she leaves. Chuck is starting to get a bit antsy about her being here seeing as she said it would only be for a month. LOL!! Next month it will be month 4! <grin> I mostly like having her here 'cept I worry too much about her when she's out late.

How about that Daytona 500? Boy, I was pissed... It looked like Mark Martin had it in the bag until Harvick came out of nowhere. Greg and Sherry (Chuck's brother and S-I-L) had there usual Daytona party. We had a great time. As usual. We always have a good time over there.

Well that's enough for now. I have to get up early tomorrow to take my mom shopping. We usually go out once or twice a week. She makes me take her to Wal-mart or the Dollar Stores and all the Good Will stores. Makes me crazy but oh well I only have one mom. She mostly buys puzzles. That way she has something to do when she's not crocheting her little angles.

So until next time... hugs!

But the good news is in just 13 days I turn 21 again. (+31)

December 18, 2006 1:35 pm ~   Hello to anyone who still comes to visit. I know I don't get here much but thought I'd share my 15 minutes of fame. :) I was in a February issue of the HoneyBrook Tri-County. HoneyBrook Graphics Brings Country E-Art to the World This just totally made my day when the reporter, Joe Miller wrote saying he wanted to do a story about my graphics. :)

Now back to the real world. I started watching my niece's kids again in November only to have to stop in December because Nikki has temporarily moved back home. So far her stay has been a welcomed one. I love having her here and as long as it remains drama free Chuck just might let her stay a bit longer than the month she requested. I was in seventh heaven the first time we all (Nikki, Chuck & Me) sat down to dinner together.

October 30, 2006 11:39 pm ~ Oh my this is only my 3rd post this whole year. Things have just been so hectic! Thankfully though my mom is doing great! She's made an almost 100% recovery. She still can't drive but that's ok. I take her where she wants to go.

Mom gave me her car a 2004 Toyota. I was thrilled! Finally I have a car from this decade. My last 2 cars were from the 80's. Hubby wasn't all that happy for two reasons. #1 It isn't a Ford & #2 New car technology. Now he has to update his mechanical skills to figure out how to fix it if it breaks. He's a fast study though so I'm sure he'll learn what he needs to know when and if the time comes.

Yeah I know I should write more but I'm tired. So until next time... hugs!

March 25, 2006 10:00 am ~ Naw... I'm not babysitting anymore. I'm mom sitting. My mom had another heart attack. They had to replace her mitral valve and her kidneys failed from being on the operating table so long. All this has been going on since February. She's been through hell! Tracheotomy, feeding tube, kidney dialysis, temporary nursing home stay and she still has 3 3/4 blocked arteries. They seemed to think the leaking mitral valve was the most important thing to fix first. Having already had 2 heart by-pass surgeries we don't think she has anymore veins left to do another one. Besides at this point she's not strong enough to go through another major operation. :(

But FINALLY she just got out of the hospital last Friday. And Thankfully we just found out on Tuesday that her kidneys are fully functioning again. Isn't that wonderful?? We were under the impression she'd have to do dialysis for the rest of her life.

Anyways... I watched the kids until the middle of March which gave Stacey time to find a good day care in her area. She had planned on putting the kids in day care anyway once it started to get warm.

I haven't decided which I like best... kid sitting or mom sitting. LOL!! Actually I think I prefer sitting in front of my computer best. LOL!! Less stressful... ya know... ;)

February 25, 2006 10:11 pm ~ Gosh it's been so long since I've done this I hope I remember how to make updates.

Things here have been kinda difficult for me. My mom has been very sick. She just had heart valve replacement surgery which she has had a hard time coming back from. Right now she's hooked up to so many different tubes it's hard to keep track of what goes where. And with a tracheotomy and she's on kidney dialysis it's been doubly hard on her.

With me leaving home on Monday and coming home on Friday to watch my nieces kids, running to the hospital on Saturday and Sunday, then catching up on my house chores it doesn't leave me much time to do Donna stuff.

But the good news is in just 9 days I turn 21 again. (+30)

December 22, 2005 9:35 pm ~ Howdy Folks! Happy Anniversary to us. Me and Chuck 10 years today! Gosh it sure has been a long time since I've been on here. I've finished up at my truck and trailer company job. It worked out well but didn't last long enough. My computer job is going well but the hours aren't long enough and last month I started a new job watching my niece's two little girls and so far it's worked out well for me. So well I just may become their Nanny. LOL!! I know... Imagine ME a nanny! They have been staying with my sister while waiting to buy a new house. They just made settlement today on the new house.

My niece and her family just transferred out here from Pittsburgh and will be settling in York, PA. I'll be traveling out there to watch the girls. It ought to be interesting. Morgan will be 1 in January and Whitney will be 3 in March. Morgan is a doll baby while Whitney is a pistol! I was watching them today and during lunch as I was busy feeding Morgan I heard this slurp and turned around to see Whitney had slurped up all the ketchup from her dish. She was having left-over meatloaf and was supposed to be dipping the pieces in her ketchup rather than slurping all the ketchup first. LOL!! What a kid...

As long as I can keep Whitney occupied doing crafts and reading and stuff things are going well. Let's see... Sunday while I was over my sisters visiting Whitney and I made Candy Cane reindeer, Monday we started a macaroni necklace and today we worked on foam Christmas photo ornaments that we will finish up tomorrow. I'm having a heck of a time thinking up projects to make for daddies as Nikki never made those so if anyone reading this has any ideas I sure would love some input.

I tried looking up crafts in Google but got overwhelmed as most were for grown-ups. I even checked out Michaels craft store. Now that was a trip. I had no clue where to start. What I need is some kind of craft book. Once my niece Stacey gets settled I imagine  we'll check out the town for craft stores. In the meantime if anyone knows of any *young kids* craft sites do please contact me.

I'm pretty much finished doing my Christmas shopping all that is left is wrapping. I hope to do that on Saturday as tomorrow hubby is taking me to the Olive Garden in the late afternoon then we're off to the Green Dragon. That's like a farmers market that has just about everything. I haven't been there in ages because my knees but now I'm getting along nicely so it'll be fun.

Well I'm off... Hopefully my next update won't be as long and I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.  hugs,

September 26, 2005 11:31 am ~ Hi there... fancy meeting you here! Guess what? I got a job! Actually 2 jobs. I work Saturdays from 10 - 2 at a computer store. I'm like the front counter person. I take in systems to be fixed, sell computer parts and answer the phone. It's pretty cool but I still am not sure what I'm doing. LOL!! Hopefully I'll get the invoicing program down so I can quit bugging my boss. Thankfully he's a VERY patient person, course it doesn't hurt that he's my best friend Denise's new bow. :)

The second job I had was working at Turkey Hill a local convenience store. That kind of fizzled out after working only 2 days. My knees couldn't take the pressure of standing the whole time and my supervisor was a bitch. <grin> I am starting a different job tomorrow. I'll be counting inventory at a local trailer company. Hopefully this won't be too taxing on my knees.

Well I must be off.... Until next time... So many things to do... So little time.... Lotsa hugs!

July 9, 2005 7:00 pm ~ Howdy Folks! Sorry I haven't been around much, just been so busy doing non computer related stuff. Mostly things like hanging out with my mom or my s-i-l, or reading, shopping, going to yard sales or cleaning. I bought a bathing suit and have been actually wearing it. Yeah, I know.... I can't believe it either! LOL!! Since my sister sold her house with the pool I didn't ever think I'd get to go swimming again. Now I've been swimming and sun bathing at my s-i-l's house. The first day I was out I got burnt so bad I thought I would die but now I'm good to go with my sun block and moisturizing lotion. I haven't done sun bathing in over 7 years so I guess I wasn't paying attention until it was to late. Ugh! Believe me I suffered! Parts of me are still peeling.

July 4th my sister had a picnic. We got to see my niece's two little girls and found out my nephew's wife is expecting in December. It's hard to believe the kids are so grown. Gosh, I changed their diapers and now they have their own diapers to change. My niece Stacey is such a good mother and I'm so proud of her and I know my nephew Bobby is gonna make a good Dad. Bobby and his wife Kristin just had a new house built out here where I live. Stacey and her husband Kevin have a house out in Pittsburg. Bobby is a head Chef and Stacey is a sales rep for UPS. It makes me happy to see that they're doing so well.

It's going on 4 months since Nikki has been out on her own. She's finally finding out that while being on her own has it's rewards, it sucks too... especially towards the end of the week when the money runs out. I have to say once she moved out my whole life changed. It's like I've regained my house back. The kitchen and bathroom stay cleaner, actually the whole house stays cleaner, I got my phone back and she's not tormenting the dog. LOL!!

Nikki is such a high maintenance person who creates drama wherever she goes, actually it's more like she thrives on drama and I'm just the opposite I need peace and quiet and my own space. She is always on the go and likes to be around people all the time whereas I'd rather be alone. Don't get me wrong... I like being around people too but not 24/7. Nikki is also good at invading your space. She's the type of kid who thinks whatever is yours is hers too and would help herself at will. She was forever going though my things or moving stuff around to suit herself. While she was here I could never go to the store without her tagging along with the gimme's and if she didn't come along I still got the will you buy me this or that, or Mom I NEED this or that. Forget having a private bathroom moment she was forever barging in or yelling for me to hurry up. AND she doesn't put the cap back on the toothpaste. LOL!! That used to drive me crazy! Now it's like I have the freedom to do as I please and can come and go as I please. :o)

Plus Chuck and I get along better. He was always complaining about the noise (girls screaming or loud music) the kids cars in the driveway, or who drank all the milk? This is the first time in the 10 years we've been together that we've had not only privacy but peace and quiet too and we're loving it!  I just hope she doesn't have any kids for awhile so we can enjoy the quiet for now. :o)

Well I'm off... I'm reading Karen Robards new book called Superstition and it's pretty good. Hope you're enjoying your summer and staying cool.

So ends another...    Hugs,

June 2, 2005 6:29 pm ~ I took the Classic IQ test and here are my results:

The Classic IQ Test: What's Your IQ? Congratulations, Donna! Your IQ score is 120 This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Insightful Linguist. This means you are highly intelligent and have the natural fluency of a writer and the visual and spatial strengths of an artist. Those skills contribute to your creative and expressive mind. And that's just some of what we know about you from your test results.

Did I wish to choose the option of paying $15.00 for a complete evaluation? Ahhh.... NOPE!! :o)

Lately I am so not into computer life. I hardly ever come on-line anymore basically I check my e-mails and that's it. Chuck and me are getting along way better than before and until he sees how much money I've spent over the past couple of days we're just 2 happy campers. We were going to go to the Dover BUSCH NASCAR race but I'm a little reluctant on accounta my knees. I still have a problem walking great distances. So we'll see...

I am however enjoying the warm days and cool nights. Chuck is putting another car together as my present T-Bird is becoming extinct. It'll be another T-Bird and I shutter to think what it'll look and RUN like. Here's a pic of him taking out the old engine. Now mind you he bought the car and the new engine from 2 different people on e-Bay. Ugh!! Our red T-Bird is waiting in the wings also a result of e-Bay... Sometimes I wish his computer would break. LOL!! A new car would be so much simpler but he says it wouldn't be any fun. *sigh*

Hugs,

May 29, 2005 12:05 pm ~ Howdy Folks, So far I've been spending this weekend spending money. Treated myself (or I should say hubby treated me) to a manicure and a pedicure. Bought all new bras and undies and even got 4 new tops. I liked the bras so much I went back today and got 4 more. You hit a certain age when going braless is no longer an option course had I not have gone braless ages ago maybe I wouldn't have a need for support but I rather doubt it. LOL!! With old age comes the law of gravity. Wearing these new bras are so comfortable that I hardly know it's there so I don't mind as much.

I think tomorrow we're going to a picnic so that'll be fun. Peanut hates when we go away. Poor lil doggy... she'll have to guard the house. LOL!! She's so dorky! Last night when I went to bed she kept putting her ear treat on my pillow. Every time I threw it on the floor she'd get it and bring it back. Come to find out she wanted me to hold it for her while she munched on the end. Silly spoiled doggy! Okie Dokie... I'm outta here... It's warmer outside than it is in here so Peanut and I are going out to catch some rays.

INDIANAPOLIS 500 NEWS ~ 4:16 pm ~ Watching the Indianapolis 500 I was so rooting for Danica Patrick! It was so close! I guess if she couldn't win having team owner Michael Andretti win with driver Dan Wheldon was the next best thing ending 35 years of fabled Andretti bad luck to win the Indianapolis 500 Sunday.

Danica Patrick the 23-year-old rookie, finishing 4th, is the highest-starting female driver in Indianapolis 500 history, became the first woman to lead the race when the three drivers ahead of her made their second pit stops before she did. Patrick, driving for the Rahal Letterman Racing team, started fourth, on the inside of the second row. Her fourth-place finish is the highest ever for a woman at the Indianapolis 500. Way to go Danica!

I was reading earlier how Robby Gordon accused Danica Patrick of having an unfair advantage in the Indianapolis 500 and said he will not compete in the race again unless the field is equalized. Gordon, a former open-wheel driver now in NASCAR, contends that Patrick is at an advantage over the rest of the competitors because she only weighs 100 pounds. Because all the cars weigh the same, Patrick's is lighter on the race track.

Boo Hoo Robby... Go home ya big baby we didn't want to see you race anyway! Busy, busy, busy.... Now onto the Charlotte NASCAR race...

Hope you're having as good a weekend as me ;o) hugs,

May 25, 2005 5:21 pm ~ Hubby and I made up. We don't stay mad long cept I'm gonna kill him for turning the heat off in the family room. I'm freezing! LOL!!  hugs,

May 24, 2005 3:41 pm Went to the dentist yesterday. Blah... I hadda cavity. I hate pain! It took 3 needles to make the pain go away. I'm such a baby when it comes to dentists. I shoulda asked him for that laughing gas stuff. Least then I wouldn't mind the pain so much.

I've been feeling so crappy lately. Hubby and I aren't getting along and I started smoking again. Says he won't kiss me goodbye cause I smell like smoke... As if I care... Oh but I bet if I made him something to eat he'd kiss me. He's the reason I started smoking again in the first place. Sometimes I wish I still lived in my own little mobile home least I wouldn't have to put up with bs from a man.

Oh well... Talk to you another day. Hugs,

May 10, 2005 5:39 pm I figured Nikki getting her deposit back was to good to be true. The guy gave them a check and it bounced. Thankfully the new landlord is understanding and is willing to work with the kids. I'm not sure what the kids will be doing. Last I heard they will be taking the old landlord to small claims court. I think they ought to cut their losses and call it a day but then what do I know.... I'm only the mom. They go and make all these spur of the moment decisions and only consult me when things go wrong. *sigh*

I've been suffering from some serious allergies here of late. I've never had an allergy problem before so all this sneezing and having a constant runny nose is making me crazy. Now I'm faced with what is the lesser of two evils. I can either sneeze my runny nose off or use the nose spray and get headaches and feel like I'm speeding my brains out. I think the sneezing rules.

Okie Dokie... until next time... hugs,
