Doctor Meet Our Puppy

Sunny Ridge Peanut

"There is no psychiatrist in the
world like a puppy licking your face."

May 12, 2004 ~ Almost had to go back to the doctors again. PUuuuuu... I have the stinkiest breath ever! Mom thinks I have another cavity. Thankfully Nikki was home when she called the vet and she looked in my mouth. (Nikki's the only one I'll sit still for and let do stuff to me) Here I had a piece of something stuck down in the hole where they took that baby tooth out a couple of months ago and I had a piece of rawhide wrapped around one of my other teeth. After Nikki took all that yucky stuff out of my mouth she brushed my teeth with doggy tooth paste and now my breath is fresh and minty. Wanna kiss? Ohhhh and after that Nikki and me got manicures. I have the prettiest finger and toe nails you ever did see. :) I love my Nikki!

May 7, 2004 ~ Heartworm and Flea and tick meds time. I like the Heartworm treat but I don't much like staying still while they clear a spot on my neck for the drops.

March 1, 2004 ~ Got my stitches out today and thought it would be smooth sailing. NOT!! I hadda get not 1 but 5 needles. Rabies, DHLPP, and because I was allergic I get to have a shot of benadryl and corticosteroid too and it's almost May so it's Heartworm test time again. Yay... I passed! Only thing living in my heart is LOVE! :) I weighed 10.50 pounds and I have a new charm to add to my necklace. It's heart shaped. Mom said it has my name on it but I think she's lying so I'll wear it. It just looks like numbers to me. Sooo I'm good to go for another year.
Reminder:
3/8/05 DHLPP Booster
3/8/05 Heartworm Test
3/8/07 Rabies Canine 3 year booster

February 25, 2004 ~ Had to wait 6 weeks until after I was done being in heat to get my operation. The nurse said it was much to dangerous and my peeps didn't want to cause me any more pain than I was already going to be in. The paper said... Your pet has been surgically altered. SURGICALLY ALTERED?? SURGICALLY ALTERED?? Can you say PAIN?? I tried hopping down from the couch and OUCH!! Guess I better rest. I had a bad tooth too. One of my baby teeth forgot to fall out so they took it. Talk about pain from head to toe. Ugh!

The doc wants my peeps to restrict my activity for the next 10 days. No running or jumping... Yeah right!! HA! As if they can stop me! I'll be running circles around them in 2 shakes of this here puppy's tail. *Ü*

May 1, 2003 ~ Heart worm test time. Hate the needle but love the goodie treat each month. Mom's all stocked up on flea and tick stuff too.

January 21, 2003 ~ I'm 1 year old so it's off to the vet for my yearly visit. Hope he don't hurt me too bad.

June 30th ~ Lost my first tooth. I been really bad and my peoples think it's cause my teefies are hurting so they are over looking some of the bad stuff. Daddy bought onea them doggy control collars cause I bark to much but mommy wont let him use it. I came up with a great idea to let Nikki use it and daddy agreed but once again mommy was the party pooper.

June 25th, 2002 ~ Our perky puppy dog Peanut is progressing nicely. Got her last distemper shot and her rabies vaccine and while under the effects of the anti-allergy medicine (didn't want a repeated episode like late  time) and the vet gave her Advantage for flea and tic control. Besides having a bit of a problem with our potty training basically we got us a healthy puppy doggy.

May 1, 2002 ~ Time to take our Heartworm medicine.

April 25th ~ Well it was back to the vets for Peanut. And what a harrowing experience this was!! Peanut got her 2nd in a series of 3 distemper shots and boy did that ever disagree with her.

I brought her home and she promptly got sick all over the couch. (yuck!) Remind me to NEVER give her a red milk bone doggy treat ever again. The red dye used to color the bone is not easy to clean when it comes back up!

The vet told us to watch for any signs of swelling and sure enough her face swelled up like a balloon. Guess she didn't want to wait a month for her next visit because it was back to the vets for us. He gave her a shot and within a half hour you could tell the swelling was starting to subside. The only good thing in all this was the shot made her tired so she slept for the rest of the night. *g*

Dr. T. said when dogs show an allergic reaction to the distemper shot we will have to be on the look out for other signs of allergies from bee stings and spider bites. He gave us some medicine to keep on hand for just in case.

March 19, 2002 ~ Took the puppy to the vet today and it seems we have a happy healthy JRT on our hands. :o) Other than having a bit of an overbite she's fine and dandy.
